Seven-inch Cedar Wand

Description

We hand craft your seven-inch cedar wand from softwood cedar. It takes time for us to shape the cedar to a 5/16-inch (0.3125-inch) diameter, or about the diameter of a pencil.

Wands are used to direct power. Although cedar is a soft wood, it is associated with the power of the Sun and element fire.

Cedar’s Latinized form means “to fumigate”. Arborvitae in Latin means “tree of life.” It is not the same as the Mediterranean or Cedar of Lebanon, which is why it’s referred to as “false.” (Cedar of Lebanon is in the Pinaceae family which includes Pines, Spruce and Fir and it’s genus is Cedrus.) Both the Thuja and Cedrus share the same properties as they are similar. Ship makers use cedar because of its rot resistance.
