Created by Magda Weck Gonzalez, of Shawnee Heritage, and illustrated by her husband J. A. Gonzalez, The cards feature Native American history, symbolism and folklore including material relayed by a Blackfoot medicine man, Harry Sparrowhawk.

Magda Whack Gonzalez was raised in a family that believes in seances, Ouija boards and card reading. Her mother is half Shawnee and half Boston Irish and as from the Cumberland Mountains of Kentucky. Her mother, a Shawnee Comm Was a spirit speaker and her father was Gypsy and Dutch.

J.A. Gonzalez is of Spanish descent and has been reading Tarot since his college days.

Magda envisioned a tarot deck with a Native American theme encompassing lore from all of the North American nations. She knew exactly what she wanted but didn’t have the skill to do the artwork. After mentioning the idea to her husband, an artist and musician, he became fascinated with the project and immediately began work on it. The cumulation of their effort is this Native American Tarot deck.
