Combine Red Cedar Tips with herbs, oils and crystals that have similar properties. This can potentially increase the magick’s power.

The tips can be crushed and used as incense. This fumigation, saining or smudging will clear negative energies and creates protection. It’s very powerful when mized with Juniper, Frankincense or Myrrh.

The genus Thuja originates from the Greek “thuia” meaning to kill, slain or sacrifice. It’s Latinized form means “to fumigate”. Arborvitae in Latin means “tree of life.” It is not the same as the Mediterranean or Cedar of Lebanon which is why it’s refered to as “false.” (Cedar of Lebanon is in the Pinaceae family which includes Pines, Spruce and Fir and it’s genus is Cedrus.) Both the Thuja and Cedrus share the same properties as they are similar. Both are used in creating sacred boxes because of their scent repelling bugs. They are used in ship making as they are resistant to rot.
